Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance and here art is breathed in every corner and in every square not only in museums. Our itinerary begins with a visit to the church of Santa Croce, a mausoleum of noble families and illustrious figures from our history, including the great Michelangelo and Galileo Galilei.
From here we will cross the city to reach Piazza della Signoria, the fulcrum of the political life of Florence since the Middle Ages. The power of the palace of the Lords is a symbol and witness without equal. This square is like an open-air museum with its beautiful statues of Perseus and the Rape of the Sabines.
The Uffizi square takes us straight to the Ponte Vecchio, symbol of this city known all over the world.
From here the view of the Arno has something unique and beautiful. Then we continue to the market of the Porcellino where it is mandatory to make a wish.
Then continue to the Piazza della Repubblica, geographic hub of the city and ancient Roman forum. The palaces here have a more austere and imperial appearance, symbol of the power of Florence, capital of Italy. Then we continue towards Via del Corso, taking a step back in time among the narrow and contorted streets, sign of a medieval Florence that saw the birthplace of one of the most important Italian poets: Dante Alighieri.
Our visit ends here in Piazza San Giovanni in front of the impressive size of the beautiful Florence Cathedral, Santa Maria del Fiore and the beautiful baptistery with its door of paradise, symbol of the most flourishing era for Florence: The Renaissance.
